HIRO LIFT stairlifts – prices, costs and experience

Customers who value a supplier with a wealth of experience and extensive tradition are in exactly the right place at HIRO LIFT. The company describes itself as the leading manufacturer of special lifts in Germany. Already since 1897 HIRO LIFT manufactures various forms of elevators, stairlifts, escalators and moving walks..

HIRO LIFT company is one of the largest manufacturers of stair lifts in Germany. The company sells various models for straight and curved stairs. In the offer are also special solutions, for example, for wheelchair users. HIRO 120, 150 and 160 models are of particular interest to stairlift buyers. In addition to classic seat elevators, the company also offers inclined wheelchair elevators, platform elevators, passenger elevators, and escalators and moving walks. We provide an overview of HIRO LIFT’s product range and the company itself.

Who is the HIRO LIFT company?

The company HIRO LIFT, is a medium-sized German company with a long tradition and has been active in many areas of elevator construction for almost 120 years. HIRO LIFT is also one of the leading manufacturers of special lifts and one of the largest manufacturers of stair lifts in Germany. The company has been in existence since 1897, and began focusing on stair elevators in 1977. About 40 years ago, the company began specializing in elevators for senior citizens. At that time there was no market and no offers for this kind of aids in Germany. A pioneer at the time, the company is now a leader in this segment.

The product range includes seat elevators for almost all types of stairs and purposes, as well as classic passenger elevators and special elevators for overcoming a wide variety of heights. It makes no difference whether the lift is used inside or outside buildings. HIRO LIFT has more than a century of experience in classic elevator construction and can use this extensive experience in the development of a wide variety of transport systems. An important success factor in the stairlift sector is the patented traction drive. This ensures very good travel characteristics of the stairlifts. The company employs around 300 people at its headquarters in Bielefeld alone. The range of services includes not only the development and sale of stairlifts, but also their service and maintenance.

Every stair lift is unique

HIRO LIFT takes a holistic approach based on individual solutions. Buyers therefore do not receive an off-the-peg stair lift, but a custom-made one-off that meets the customer’s exact needs and fits perfectly with the structural framework of the staircase. The stair lifts can be used for both straight and curved stairs. Even very narrow stairs do not present HIRO LIFT with any unsolvable problems. The seat lifts can be designed so that installation is also possible over several floors without restricting the other usability of the staircase.

Other advantages of HIRO stairlifts include sophisticated safety concepts and low maintenance requirements. Visually, the seat lifts can be individually adapted to the respective living environment. Due to the customizability of each stair lift, price information is difficult to provide. HIRO LIFT states that stair lift prices start at 3,500 €. However, the exact price can only be determined by an individual offer.

Advice and service on site

HIRO LIFT vouches for the quality of its products and for the highest possible quality standards. However, should a malfunction occur, a 24-hour service hotline is available. HIRO LIFT relies on its own factory technicians to provide on-site service. The company also offers on-site consultation prior to purchase.

Throughout Germany, test drives are also offered with stairlifts that have already been installed. Thus prospective customers can convince themselves of the quality and the driving characteristics of the seat lifts. Such appointments for a test drive are also possible with existing customers. Interested parties thus have the opportunity to ask for first-hand experience in everyday use.

The procedure goes something like this: HIRO LIFT arranges an appointment for interested parties at one of its customers. There, they can take a look at an installed HIRO stair lift, take it for a test drive and gain first-hand experience in a personal discussion. If desired, the specialist consultant can also collect the prospective customer from home and drive him to the customer’s premises. So you don’t have any inconvenience, except that you have to invest a little time.

Stairlift HIRO 150 for straight stairs

HIRO 150 stair lift is designed for straight stairs. It does not use the patented traction drive and instead relies on a rack and pinion drive. This is more cost-effective, so the HIRO 150 has a very good price-performance ratio. You can’t see the drive itself. It is located underneath an anodized aluminum profile. This makes the operation of the rack and pinion drive particularly safe. The HIRO 150 stair lift can be used both indoors and outdoors. It can be controlled either by a control element in the armrest, a radio remote control or a control on a spiral cable.

The maximum load capacity is 175 kg. Thanks to its compact design, the HIRO 150 takes up very little space. The width is only 60 cm during travel and only 35 cm when parked. Optionally, the stair lift can be ordered with a fully automatic swivel seat for comfortable ascent and descent or with an automatic folding track. The latter allows the stairlift to be installed when the door area is directly in front of the end of the stairs.

Stairlift Hiro 160 for curved stairs

HIRO 160 stairlift is designed for curved stairs indoors or outdoors. The sit-down stairlift can be installed as an indoor or outdoor stairlift. The patented traction drive of the HIRO 160 ensures a smooth gliding travel operation completely without jerking effects and maximum stability – this thanks to the two-tube system made of stainless steel, on which the stair lift is guided by two coated rollers. Nevertheless, the stair lift can be easily integrated into different living areas thanks to a variable color scheme.

The HIRO 160 is operated either by a control in the armrest, a radio remote control or a control on a spiral cable. The maximum load is 150 kg. As with the HIRO 150, the model for curved stairs is also available with an electric swivel seat for safe ascending and descending. The track can be made foldable at the end of the track as well as during the track if required, so that doors can be opened as usual.

Other stair lifts from HIRO LIFT

In addition to the 150 and 160 models, HIRO LIFT has the flexible HIRO 120 sit-down lift. It can also be equipped with a standing platform or wheelchair platform. The use of this model is possible both indoors and outdoors. The maximum load capacity here is 125 kg or 225 kg.

    Dear Sir or Madam,

in my grandparents’ house there is a HIRO 160 stair lift (chair lift on the left). The lift is 4. years old and was only little in use. Since I am now dissolving the household of my grandparents, this would be cheap to sell. However, the system must be fairly dismantled by professionals. Would you be interested in such an offer?

    With kind regards

    M.Westheuser

What is the cost of dismantling a Hirolift over two floors? The chair’s electrical system no longer works. A new battery needs to go in. I do not need the whole system anymore. The lift is located in my house near Bielefeld and is 20 years old. Please send me a non-binding offer for the dismantling of the Hirolift.

    With kind regards
    Ingrid Reinhardt
